2011 CCRP Scholarship Winners

Catherine Biewer Kimberly Thelen Anna Whiteman
For a second year the Clinton County Republican Party has awarded $500.00 scholarships to Clinton County Seniors who will be attending college in the fall of 2011. This year we increased the number of scholarships awarded from 2-to-3. We feel the awarding of the scholarships is just one way we can encourage our young people to get a better understanding of the foundational truths our government was founded upon and to make the graduates more aware of their responsibilities as voting citizens of our country.
The scholarship award recipients were determined based on an essay written by the applicant, their GPA, school activities, community service, and letter of recommendation. The scholarship awards were issued to the individuals at either their school’s awards ceremony or at the Clinton County Republican Party BBQ held on July 21 in Bath Township.
The essay question was:
“Our country’s founding leaders had a vision of the role of the federal government.” Explain what this role is and it’s importance today.
